Grete
Poster design for a recurring concert series at Grete, a small music venue and smoking bar in Hamburg.
As the lineup often consisted of emerging, lesser-known musicians, press materials such as photos or graphics were frequently unavailable. This required a flexible visual system capable of working independently of external imagery.

Early posters reinterpreted the artists’ names as fictional cigarette brands, referencing the smoke-filled atmosphere of the venue.
Over time, the system evolved toward using the names as the sole visual element, resulting in expressive typographic compositions.
In later iterations, a custom stencil typeface was introduced to generate structured patterns derived from the names, prioritizing adaptability and coherence while allowing variation within a consistent series.

SETT — A geometric stencil typeface based on equal-width strokes, counters, and letter spacing, creating a distinctive optical rhythm.
